Why do I need to uninstall or disable Eazy Fix before installing Windows 10 Anniversary Update?
One of the Eazy Fix product limitations is Booting From an External Media (OS) – Eazy Fix cannot protect the computer when changes are made to the hard drive from an external or foreign (non-Windows) operating system bypassing Eazy Fix protection drivers. For example, booting from a Windows PE CD will start a different OS that may be able to change the hard drive and produce unpredictable results.
Please see KB164 for more information on this subject.
When installing Windows 10 Anniversary Update, the computer needs to restart.
During the restart, the computer is booted into a Windows PE environment to install the updates.
This action could damage Eazy Fix snapshots and is qualified as O.S. upgrade than an O.S. update.
Please see KB161 for more information about Eazy Fix's support of Windows Update and Window Upgrade.
Windows 10 Anniversary Update, even though called an update but works as an upgrade, therefore you need to uninstall or disable Eazy Fix before installing it.
